Images from the field. I snapped these photos with my cellphone after tutoring, when the night tutoring slowed down. There was one group working together, a mother and her son.

Also some additional images from commit to college month. The “diploma” scrolls were posted to the wall by library staff under large numbers 1-12 across three walls. Under each current grade in school, the students who had college talks with mentors saw their names while doing homework. They also so the names of students in the same grade as them thinking about college and when they will graduate.

Here are 17 1st graders who had the college talk at the library. There are several scrolls overlapping between grades. In fact, scrolls eventually had to be taped higher into the design than planned.
